As the strategic communications lead for EDI at RIBA, I worked closely with the seniorĀ  leaders to help deliver the EDI plan and objectives. As well as celebrating cultural diversity more broadly, I designed and delivered an integrated comms plan to launch and promote RIBA’s first black president. An advocate for workers’ rights and the youngest president of RIBA at the age of 36, I mitigated risks and issues. Meanwhile, I also mitigated the risks created by an organisation-wide transformation, opposed by many members and strongly opposed by the previous director of EDI, who briefed the media about her concerns, accusing RIBA of not being committed to the principles of EDI.
